Default Lee Pro 1000

Guy gave me a Lee Pro 1000 reloader.

Looks complete, but has NO instructions.

I checked the "instructions" on the Lee site, but the pics were dark and useless. I a "pic dependent" kind of guy.

I'm thinking of trying this press out for 9mm. I have loaded many rifle rounds on a simple, very old, RCBS press, but have no experience with either progressive reloaders or with reloading handgun rounds.

Being as I have no coin tied up in this rig yet, is it likel;y worth the price of buying dies and beating the bushes for instructions?
Any comments/opinions welcome, and appreciated!

No, this is a horrible idea. Save yourself the grief by mailing it to me.

Seriously, it should do a fine job once you get it tuned up and sorted out.
It is no RCBS, but it has the ability to turn out quality ammo.

I did a quick search on "lee pro 1000 manual" and came up with these two picture manual links. Keep searching till you find what you need.

Hope this helps.

Wow!! Given a reloader? Lucky you.
At first, a progressive might seem complicated and it is.
Its just that are multiple things all going on at the same time as compared to a single stage.
Nothing you cant handle tho, might even want to contact Lee themselves for some help?
Heck, my first reloader was a progressive a long time ago. I just trusted the equipment to do its thing.
Your gonna like it, Honest.

I have the Lee Pro 1000 and love it. I load .380, 9MM, 40S&W and 45 ACP with virtually NO PROBLEMS. This press can be tricky at times but there are a few little and REALLY easy mods you can do to really make it work nice. I hardly every get a primer mis-feed and the entire press runs great!! I would buy another in a heartbeat. Watch, some folks knock the Lee press because of the plastic gears. I also wish they were not plastic but I have loaded over 5k and have NEVER had to replace my plastic parts. The key is to learn the feel of a primer seating and the rest is a no brainer. Don't be a brute and force the press to do things when the feel isn't right and it will be good to you.

If you have any questions, I can help you. PM me anytime. When I get to work Monday I will copy to manual in PDF form and email to to you. Shoot me a PM with your email, Ill lighten up the pics for ya. (I'll be totally honest, the manual is WORTHLESS)

Good luck and happy reloading!

Kixu

Thanks for the links Mark, I was given two of these presses, one with a set of 45acp dies. I haven't tried to put them together yet, now I rekon I'll try putting them to good use!

Sovereign Guns
(919) 331-2016
26 N Broad St E, Angier, NC 27501

I went by today and they have a Lee 1000 setup on display. They have some dies- 9mm,.357,.223,.308....- lead bullet molds, lead pots, some jacketed bullets....

They have no primers or powder.

Tell them the guy from the animal hospital sent you by. It wan't get you anything, but helps them know how the word is getting out. :)
